We know we need a photographer at our wedding; why should we have our wedding professionally videotaped as well?
Photographs are still an important part of capturing special events in our lives, but they don't tell the whole story. They cannot capture the laughter, spontaneity, warmth and love of the most important day of your life. VideoWorks records the action of the moment without posing and enables you to relive the memories much more vividly. If you feel the occasion is a significant event in your life, and you would like to share it with friends, relatives and your future children, then video is the only way to do it.

At a recent wedding expo, a presenter said: "I am holding two boxes. One contains your great-grandparents' wedding photos and the other contains their wedding video. You can have only one. Which do you choose?" The audience choice was unanimous - everyone chose the video. top of page

How will you work with my photographer?
VideoWorks has been around a long time and we have great relationships with Erie area photographers. We work well together. It is the goal of both your videographers and photographers to preserve your wedding day with an outstanding movie and photographs. top of page

Our friend has a camcorder…perhaps they'd be happy to do our wedding video as a gift?
Your wedding day is a one-take event with no chances to go back and correct mistakes or oversights. VideoWorks has recorded over 1300 weddings and has the equipment, the experience and the professional know-how to capture all the special moments of your wedding day. And one of the most important parts of recording your wedding ceremony and reception is the post-production work involved in making your video smooth, professional and fun to watch. Hiring a professional allows your friend to enjoy the festivities at your wedding instead of being stuck behind the camera. top of page

Won't the video cameras annoy guests and ruin the atmosphere?
That depends. There are a wide range of video cameras and video camera operators. Believe it or not, it is possible to have professional video unobtrusive enough so that guests do not realize a videographer is present. Not long ago, we recorded a wedding at St. Peter Cathedral in Erie, PA, using 5 cameras and three videographers. It was a full Catholic Mass that lasted well over an hour. Following the wedding, the bride’s mom saw me speaking with her daughter and new son-in-law. She came up to us and told me how upset she was because we “missed” the wedding. I actually thanked her for making my day. My videographers arrived 2 hours before the wedding started. We recorded the bride’s preparation and the bride’s mom was in the room. I was the camera operator that was near the center aisle and recorded the mothers being escorted into and out of the church. The bride’s mom never noticed us. We pride ourselves in our discretion.top of page

How can we ensure the best wedding video?
At VideoWorks we shoot only one wedding a day. Your wedding video is the only one we are focused on. You get our best videographers and one is always female for that special woman’s perspective. We use at least 4 state-of-the art cameras to record your wedding. This enables us to choose from four different camera angles during the editing process. By using four cameras, it also helps us to be unobtrusive. We have 4 different angles covered so we don’t have to move around during your wedding service. We get great close ups of the bride, groom, wedding party and both families. Wireless microphones are placed at all of the important places. The groom wears a mic (hidden behind his boutonnière) that will pick up your wedding vows. The lectern (for readings) and vocalist each get a microphone. We also plug into the PA system. The video and sound quality is unsurpassed.top of page

How long have you been in business?
At VideoWorks we recorded our first wedding in 1981 and since that time have produced more than 1300 wedding movies.top of page

What’s your wedding video style?
There are several ways to record a wedding video. One way is to record the entire day’s events and do some editing resulting in a DVD that may be two hours (or more) in length.

At VideoWorks, our style is Cinematic – more like a movie. We do record everything but we choose the best parts of each event for your wedding movie (if you want to see everything we can produce a DVD version with all of the unedited footage).

Our full length version (wedding and reception) is around 60 minutes. The highlight version is between 15-20 minutes. My goal as an editor is to produce a wedding movie that is so good you will never touch the fast forward button and your family and friends will want to watch it over and over again.top of page

How early do you arrive the day of the wedding?
We will be at the wedding location at least 90 minutes prior to the starting time so that we can set up equipment and begin to capture the pre-wedding events.top of page

What happens if you get sick the day of our wedding?
Good question…because your wedding is the only one we are producing on your date and there are 4 videographers working for VideoWorks, there is always a qualified replacement available.top of page

Should we feed you dinner at the reception?
Dinner is often a courtesy that is extended to the videographer and photographer. Depending on your coverage, we may be with you for more than 8 hours on your wedding day. We suggest that you make arrangements with the caterer to feed us right after the wedding party and family. That way we will be ready to continue recording your reception when you are ready. Thanks for thinking of us.top of page

Can we add music to our wedding movie?
Every wedding day movie that VideoWorks produces contains music that you select.top of page

Does our wedding DVD have chapters?
Every wedding day movie that VideoWorks produces contains custom chapters, labels and cases.top of page

Do you put our wedding video on line?
Yes we do. We produce a full length version as well as a 15-20 minute highlight version of your wedding day. The highlight wedding video is placed on Google Video. top of page

How long does it take for us to receive our wedding video DVDs?
Because of the 4 camera wedding, editing takes a great deal of time. Our contract states 6-8 weeks from the date of the wedding. Often delivery is sooner. top of page

Our standard services for the wedding includes at least 4 cameras and 2 videographers. We edit your wedding video to produce 3 full length DVDs and 5 highlight DVDs. Our wedding coverage begins at $1595. For more details and specific pricing information, please give us a call at 814-866-6060. top of page

How early do I need to reserve my wedding date?
The sooner the better to guarantee the availability of your date. While we are sometimes able to accommodate couples on short notice, we recommend six months in advance. During the more popular wedding months, dates can become unavailable a year in advance.top of page

Do you travel out of town?
Yes we do. We often record weddings in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo. We have even recorded a wedding in Tampa, Florida.top of page
